The process of plastic injection molding is the most common method for producing large quantities of all types of plastic parts for commercial and industrial use. The process begins by inserting plastic granules into the injection molding machine and bringing them to the melting point. The molten plastic is injected into the mold cavity under pressure and then cooled in a controlled manner. As a result, the plastic mass takes on a specific, predefined shape. The injection molding cycle can last from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the complexity and size of the part. Plastic parts obtained by injection molding can be of different complexity, dimensions, and weight levels.
